But I've noticed recent iterations have made it less and less friendly to my left-handed-ness.
For example, the camera app. It used to be, that when you held the camera in landscape mode, the button to take a picture would be closest to the microphone/bottom of the phone. Hold it toward the left, the button was on the left, hold it toward the right, it's on the right. In 4.2.2 it's ALWAYS on the right in landscape mode.
They did away with the menu button, which used to be centered (at least on the EVO I had), and even the menu shortcut in most screens was in the center toward the bottom. Now? it's a clever icon and it's almost always toward the top of the screen and far right. Love the icon, hate that it's as far right it's almost off screen.
Now, with phones even bigger than they used to be, it's kinda hard to hold the phone in my left hand and reach across to press this common button without possibly dropping the phone or pressing something else in the process.
It's a thin button, why does it have to be all the way on the right? Why can't it be centered? It could even live on either side of the home button and be just fine.
It's just annoying when you can have literally any layout possible for your controls, you're not restricted by hardware, you could put them anywhere, and you choose to not make them centered where everyone can find it, or ---and here's the kicker ---- give the USER the option of flipping the layout. Just set up a "lefty control scheme" in the settings and now the menu button appears on the left for folks like me, same thing with the camera app. The hardware doesn't require it to be on a particular side, that's the beauty of a trouch screen.
Google, stop forgetting lefties. Please?
